I'm working in Mexico this Spring, so I can't hold another informational meeting until I return in the summer. However, I generally have e-mail access, and I'm happy to answer any questions you send me. :-)
You will need to have a passport that expires no less than 6 months after our return date. You should apply/renew early!
A deposit of $300 is due by Monday, 19 March. This deposit will secure your space in the Mexico Travel Study program. Further deposit instructions will be posted soon.
Register for the two SOCW 440 sections for the summer 2007 term. Registration forms are available from Dr. Carey or from the OCED Office (Somsen 109). Completed Registration forms must be submitted by 19 March to OCED (SOMSEN 109) or, in Rochester, to Dr. Carey's assistant, Trisha.
A number of WSU forms are available in the Mexico Travel Study "Information and Registration" Packet (see above). All forms must be completed no later than 3/30/2006.
Participate in the pre-departure sessions when we will review and confirm travel plans, review background information about Mexico and Mexican cultures, visit with area Mexican American residents, and further develop our individualized learning objectives.
Pay the balance of the program cost. This payment is due on the same date as other summer tuition will be due (this has not yet been determined).
We will discuss wise packing plans during our pre-departure sessions.
Students registering for college credit may be eligible for special financial assistance to cover the costs of this travel study program. The WSU Financial Aid Office will have a copy of the approved budget/cost calculations for this trip so that they can properly determine your award amount. Please contact the WSU Financial Aid Office for further information.
