The Ecuador Travel Study program offers WSU students an interdisciplinary opportunity to explore the ways in
which indigenous and non-indigenous peoples have responded to life in a dynamic environment over time.
Students enroll in two University Studies courses (History 165 - History of Latin America & Geoscience 103 -
Natural Disasters
) and can earn 6 credits in 3 weeks.  The program will take an interdisciplinary approach to
understanding the historical and geological evolution of life in the high sierra of the Ecuadorian Andes.  Our
interdisciplinary approach allows us to additionally consider the "human element" -- the psychological, social,
cultural and religious -- in context with the historical and geologic content.
