The Case of the Burglary in New Zealand page 3

The Hypericium pollen that was found had a high proportion of its cell contents intact.  The other pollens that were found did not show similar features of the cell contents being intact and in clumps.  The significance of this means that the contact with the plants was relatively recent.  A high number of the pollen grains from Hypericium occurred in clumps but not the other pollens that were found.  This indicates that the pollen could not have been aerially dispersed but must have arrived on the clothing in bulk directly from the flowers.
