Laboratory Information

There is a heavy emphasis on lab in Chem 426.  The lecture portion of this course is devoted to understanding the theory behind several common and important types of analytical instrumentation.  The lab is devoted to actually learning how to use these instruments.

Due to practical considerations, you will not always be working on an experiment at the same time its theory of operation is being discussed in lecture.  To make maximum use of your lab time, it is imperative that you read the pertinent sections of your textbook before starting an experiment on a particular instrument.
