CME 250 Statics Assignments Exams

Course Requirements

Grading:

The overall course grade will be based on the average of eight equally weighted exams. The exams will be held on the days noted in the Assignments table.

Each exam will consist of two problems related to the content covered since the previous exam. You need to provide a written solution to one of the two problems. You will have approximately 30 minutes to provide your written solution.

You are welcome to use any printed reference materials and a handheld calculator during the exams (you will not be allowed to use any other devices during the exams). You are required to work independently on the exams.

At the end of the semester if the overall course average for the class is below a 75, the points needed to raise it to a 75 will be added to each students overall course average. Letter grades will then be determined as shown in the table below.

course grade (points) course grade (letter)
90 and above A
80 to 89 B
70 to 79 C
60 to 69 D
below 60 F

During the semester, grades will be posted in the course folder found on D2L Brightspace.

Attendance:

There will be no opportunity to make up an exam if you are absent. If the absence is excused, your overall grade will be based on the other exams that you have taken during the semester. If the absence is unexcused, a grade of zero will be recorded for the missed exam.

To be successful in the course (refer to the Assignments table):

Read the pages of the text that precedes each of the related problem sets (particular attention needs to be given to understanding the example problems).

Review the PowerPoint slides (found under the "Topics" tab) related to the content.

Be attentive and understand the solutions to the problems solved in class by the instructor

Do the assigned homework problems and check your work against the instructor's solutions found at the links in the Assignments table.

Prepare for the exams (including a review of the problems and solutions from last year under the "Exams" tab).
