Decision Process

The matrix (spreadsheet) used by the team to aid in the process of deciding the best design from among the design alternatives needs to show:

all the goals from the Design Concerns Table are evaluated

a raw score scale is established for each goal

appropriate values are used in the raw score scales

the designs can be differentiated

the increments are of equal value

weighting is applied to each goal

there is justification provided for each weighting

the best design is identified (briefly summarize why this design stands above the other design alternative(s), thoughts on incorporating any design features from the other design alternative(s), and address any areas of concern regarding this design)
