Expt 8. A Crossed Aldol Condensation. Preparation of Dibenzalacetone.

Note: For this lab a lab report is not required. Instead you will hand in fully labeled spectra attached to your in-lab notes. The in-lab notes should conclude with a table that lists the mp and yield results of the experiment. Also, you will need to submit your product in a fully labeled 2x2" ziploc.

One procedure note: use a mixture of 15 mL EtOH, 3 mL 10% NaOH, and 3 mL water for step 2 on p 52.
